'As Danhof has pointed out (1991), many scientists now believe that a homan life of some 120 years is not an unreasonable possibility. Death occurs at a much younger age because aging is "accelerated" by processes in the body and by external influences. Insects Invented Insecticides!

'We're a clever lot, we humans....our inventions have grown in complexity from stone-age tools to today's high-tech computer hardware. But many of the things we think we invented, the insects thought of first....These are just a few inventions.
Papermaking - A small rather aggressive wasp called Polistes is common, though not often welcome, around our gardens. She not only finds nutrients, but uses the simplest of materials and techniques to make a set of paper cells. Fragments of wood scraped off a dead stick are mixed with saliva in her mouth, then the resulting chewed pulp is applied to form a nest that is firm but flexible, shaped rather like an inverted wineglass. That is papermakeing in its simplest form, and not so different from what happens in our industrial paper mills!
Believe it or not insects invented insecticides!
When disturbed the caterpillar of our familiar orchard butterfly and its relatives evert an organ from their heads that diffuses a chemical repellent. It's uses against the tiny parasitic wasps and flies that attack them. Soldiers of the termite called Nasutitermes ("nosy termite') reper attacking ants positively, spraying a noxious chemical in their direction from the hollow, pointed 'nose' that gives them their name. Another sharp shooter against all manner of enemies is the bombardier beetle that accurately fires a visible cloud of poisonous vapour from its anus. You can hear the 'pop'!'

Kamikaze Ichthyosaur?

The complete preserved skull of an ichthyosaur was found buried in a vertical, nose-down position at 90 degrees to the rock layers. Unlike most fossils, the head was preserved in three dimensions, and had not been flattened by the weight of sediment above it.
Geologists found the fossil in 1999, in an abandoned quarry in the north of Switzerland, near Hauenstein, and took months to prise it carefully out of the enclosing rock.
The specimen is 37cm (15in) long, and consists of the head, its long snout with some 200 fine teeth, a few neck vertebrae and a very small part of its rib cage. It was a young animal, which would have been about two metres long, of the species Leptonectes tenuirostris, and is now displayed at the nearby Natural History Museum of Olten.
The skull was enclosed vertically within three geological layers, which have been dated according to long-age beliefs, by reference to the fossils they contain. Curiously, the layers span an 'age' of about one million years, and that presents something of a problem for long-age geologists.
How could anyone conceive of an ichthyosaur head being buried in a vertical position slowly over a million years, yet remaining preserved along its whole length?
The obvious implication is that the 'millions of years' are fanciful.
